1° giorno Lunedi 09/01/12 - Italia - Bamako In mattinata partenza dall’ Italia con volo di linea per Bamako dove si arriva in serata. Trasferimento e sistemazione al Grand Hotel o similare, la cena è libera. 2° giorno Martedi 10/01/12 Bamako - Segou Giornata dedicata alla visita della più “vera” delle capitali d’Africa. Sulle rive del fiume Niger, immersa nel verde dei suoi giardini, Bamako sembra ancora un grosso villaggio al quale le costruzioni di stile neo-sudanese ocra e bianche conferiscono un'atmosfera di vetustà coloniale. Divenuta solo recentemente la capitale del paese, accanto ai vecchi edifici governativi, testimonianza dell'occupazione francese, conserva intatti i vecchi quartieri africani dalle tipiche case in banco (impasto di argilla, paglia ed escrementi animali), costantemente avvolti in un velo impalpabile di polvere di laterite. Nelle stradine intorno ai vari coloratissimi mercati regna una attività intensa: donne dagli abiti variopinti, piccoli commercianti e "bana-bana" (venditori ambulanti) propongono a "bon prix" gli oggetti più disparati, dai prodotti tradizionali dell'artigianato locale alla invitante frutta e verdura degli orti di periferia ai prodotti più sofisticati del consumismo occidentale. Vociare di bambini ed appelli del muezzin si mescolano in un unico straordinario brusìo. Ovunque artigiani intenti al lavoro: orefici, pellettieri, tessitori accoccolati davanti ai rudimentali telai e abilissimi scultori del legno e dell'avorio. Su tutto il profumo greve dell'incenso e l'odore penetrante e violento delle spezie e degli ingredienti della medicina tradizionale africana. Bamako, punto d'incontro e di fusione tra popolazioni diverse, è l'esempio più squisitamente autentico di città africana. Pranzo in ristorante. Inizio della spedizione lungo la strada asfaltata che collega la capitale alle principali città del paese, giungendo fino a Gao . La strada scorre inizialmente tra frutteti e campi, per raggiungere Segou, grosso centro agricolo e commerciale sulle rive del fiume Niger. Sistemazione all’hotel Auberge o similare. Cena e pernottamento. 3° giorno Mercoledi 11/01/12 - Segou - Mopti Prima colazione e visita delle città che ricorda il suo passato coloniale, la città era considerata, dai francesi, il granaio del paese, in quanto avevano reso fertile la zona deviando il corso del fiume Niger. Dopo il pranzo partenza per Mopti, lungo il percorso sosta a San per visitare la sua maestosa moschea. All’arrivo trasferimento in albergo e sistemazione. Mopti, animatissimo punto d’incontro tra le genti del fiume e le popolazioni circostanti, affascina e stordisce per i colori e gli aromi del mercato, l’animazione delle stradine sabbiose tra le casupole in banco della periferia, l’improvviso raggrupparsi della folla attorno all’orefice-mercante che offre gli enormi orecchini d’oro a forma di barchetta di cui si ornano le donne Peul, il continuo andirivieni delle grandi piroghe coperte di stuoie. Pranzo al ristorante, cena e pernottamento all’Hotel Kanaga o similare. 4° giorno Giovedi 12/01/12 Mopti - Timbuctu le Di buon mattino partenza in fuoristrada per un percorso piuttosto lungo ( 384 km in parte pista e in parte asfalto), interessante osservare il cambiamento di paesaggio, gradualmente la “brousse” lascia il posto alle basse dune del deserto del Gurma, i radi arbusti si sostituiscono agli alberi fino a raggiungere Timbuktu. Fondata dai Tuareg alla fine del XII secolo, Timbuctù è situata sul fiume Niger nel punto d’incontro fra le carovane che scendevano dal Maghreb attraverso il Sahara e piroghe che percorrevano il fiume con carichi d’oro provenienti dalle miniere del Bourem nell’Africa nera. Occupata prima dai Mandingo, poi dai Songhay di Gao, dai marocchini, dai Peul del regno di Macina e quindi nuovamente dai Tuareg, la città riuscì a mantenere inalterato il suo splendore molto a lungo. La ricchezza dei suoi mercati e il livello culturale del cenacolo di sapienti fecero di Timbuctù una città mitica e misteriosa, chiusa agli occidentali e sconosciuta fino agli inizi delL’800. Pranzo pic nic lungo il percorso; cena e pernottamento all’ Hotel La Colombe o similare. (Per chi lo desidera si potrà assistere alla prima serata del festival anche se sarà la notte successiva il clou delle esibizioni.) 5° giorno – Venerdi 13/01/12 Timbuctu - Festival Tuareg Dopo la prima colazione visita della moschea di Djingereber, costruita nel XIV secolo è la più antica costruzione d’argilla esistente al mondo, ed é di grande armonia architettonica. Proseguimento delle visite e in serata trasferimento fuori da Timbuctù (pochi chilometri) per assistere al festival della musica (questa edizione del Festival non si terrà a Essakane , che lo ha per lungo tempo ospitato, ma alle porte di Timbuctu. Per questo motivo non riteniamo sia necessario dormire in tenda, ed è quindi meglio rientrare in hotel) Il festival si è inserito nel quadro di riunioni tradizionali di nomadi Tuareg, chiamate Takoubelt nella regione di Kidal, e Temakannit nella regione di Timbuktu. Per secoli queste riunioni hanno offerto un’incredibile opportunità ai Tuareg di incontrarsi, socializzare e celebrare. Hanno offerto anche l’occasione di esibire canzoni, danze, poesie, corse di cammelli, duelli rituali con spade, giochi ed altri divertimenti tradizionali. Oggi, il Festival nel Deserto vuole da una parte dare spazio a tutte le espressioni culturali Tuareg e dall’altra essere aperto a contributi di musicisti di tutto il mondo. Pensione completa e pernottamento all’ Hotel La Colombe o similare. 6° giorno Sabato 14/01/12 Timbuctu - Sangha La mattina colazione e partenza per Douentza, dove si farà una sosta per il pranzo. Da Douentza, costeggiando la falesia si entra propriamente nel paese Dogon, i primi villaggi si profilano alla nostra destra, soste ai villaggi di Yendouma e Bamba. Originario della regione del Mandé da cui fuggì intorno al X secolo, probabilmente per salvaguardare la propria identità culturale e religiosa, questo popolo è senza dubbio il gruppo etnico più interessante del Mali..L’originalità dei Dogon si deve all’insediamento in questa regione montagnosa impervia ed inospitale che domina la piana del Volta dove, arroccati sui fianchi della falesia, sono stati edificati i villaggi tra blocchi di arenaria o in cavità naturali. Perfettamente mimetizzati nel paesaggio si incontrano agglomerati di piccole capanne punteggiati da gruppi serrati di granai dalla caratteristica copertura conica in paglia e, al di sopra dei villaggi, le grotte sepolcrali nelle quali i morti vengono issati per mezzo di corde. Essenzialmente dediti all’agricoltura, i Dogon sono riusciti a creare vere oasi di verde trasportando con pazienza e caparbietà la terra e costruendo pietra su pietra dighe e sbarramenti. Incastonato in un ambiente fantastico, questo popolo ha elaborato una cultura che affascina etnologi e studiosi. Il culto degli antenati e una complessa cosmogonia sono simboleggiati da ingenue e preziose forme artistiche: sculture, maschere, porte e finestre in legno intagliato, strumenti musicali e danze rituali. Proseguimento per Sangha. Pernottamento all’hotel Campement, pensione completa. 7° giorno 15/01/12 Sangha - Ireli - Tireli - Sangha Attraverseremo i villaggi in una delle regioni più interessanti, ma meno visitate dei paesi Dogon. Popolosi villaggi si alternano a distese di coltivazioni di miglio. Al centro di ogni villaggio, o di ogni quartiere, ecco i Togu’na, centri di riunione per gli anziani, realizzati con pilastri in legno scolpito, che sostengono spessi strati di canne di miglio. La Tunisia offre veramente di tutto al visitatore: belle spiaggie, fantastici siti archeologici, bel mare caldo e azzurro, il deserto con le sue dune e le sue oasi, i villaggi berberi. Il viaggio in Tunisia e'stato una esperienza molto bella. Il viaggio, tutto in camper: 1^ giorno Tunisi capitale con visita del souk, la medina il museo del Bardo e la serata a Sidi Bou Said, incantevole villaggio bianco azzurro. E' stato fantastico! Abbiamo dormito sul piazzale di Carthago 2^ giorno El Jem, visita al colosseo e al museo con i suoi bellissimi mosaici Sousse, graziosa localita' balneare. Dormito nel parking di un villaggio turistico 3^ giorno Djerba, l'isola meravigliosa dove riposare e prendere il sole, camping 4^ , 5^ giorno Tataouine per assaggiare il dolce tipico "le corne de gazelle" e per visitare i granai e i villaggi berberi, come Douiret, Ksar soultane, Allouf, Ben Gheddasch, Chenini. Dormito nel deserto, sotto le stelle Attraversiamo il deserto e arriviamo all'oasi di Ksar Ghilane, immersa nelle dune e nel parlmeto. C'e' una piscina naturale di acqua termale calda!! Dormito in campeggio Abbiamo affittato i 4x4 e attraversato le dune e visitato il forte di Ksar Ghilane. Notte nel campo tendato fisso di Timbaine nel cuore delle dune del deserto. La sera the' nel deserto e pane cotto nella sabbia e danze e balli intorno al fuoco 6^ giorno Douz la capitale del deserto, camping Touzeur, visita del grande Chott El Jerid, lago salato, molto bello e di colore bianco per il sale. Nefta, visita del palmeto, mangiato i datteri piu' buoni di tutta la Tunisia, visitato il set di Guerre Stellari, campimg 7^ giorno Risaliamo a nord per visitare le oasi di montagna, Tamerza, Chebika, Mides, un giro panoramico sul treno di Metlaoui tra canyon e montagne, spettacolare!!! Campimg 8^ giorno Si continua a nord tra le montagne per arrivare alla stupenda città di Le Kef, bello il forte, piazzale libero per la notte in camper 9^ giorno Non possiamo tralasciare la città santa di Kairouane, la medina e suoi tappeti!!! camping all'ostello della gioventu' 10^ giorno Un bagno ad Hammamet e si rientra a Tunisi per imbarcarsi per l'Italia Questo viaggio e' per tutte le tasche e per tutti, bambini; giovani e meno giovani In tutto il percorso con noi una guida che parla italiano con la sua macchina. Tour 1 – Ancient Heritage between Sea and Desert First Day Arrival in Tripoli and Transfer to Gharian. Second Day We’ll visit the ancient underground houses of the Berber. Drive to the Berber-villages of Yefrin, Jado and Kabao. Our route takes us via Sinawen Derij to Ghadames. Third Day On the third day we will visit the Unesco World Heritage-listed city of Ghadames, where we’ll have a traditional lunch in one of its old town houses. At late afternoon we’ll drive to the lake of Mojazem through the spectacular Sahara dunes, where we’ll enjoy the beautiful sunset. Back to Hotel. Fourth Day In the early morning we drive to Tripoli, passing by the castle of Nalut, where we’ll see one of the biggest and best preserved examples of a Berber granary. The next granary we’ll see is Qasr al-Hadj surrounded by its old Berber-village. Fifth Day We’ll visit the Roman excavations of Sabratha. The ruins of Sabratha boast one of the finest theatres of antiquity. According to its history, Punic settlers from the neighbouring stronghold of Carthago choose the site because of its safe harbour. By the end of the 1st century AD, the last vestiges of Punic influence began to die out under the inexorable weight of Romanisation in the region. In the late afternoon we drive back to Tripolis where we’ll have the chance to visit the old city and Souq of Tripolis. Sixth Day In the early morning we drive to Leptis Magna and dive into the history of the Roman Empire in the „Provincia Africana“. One of Leptis´ signature monuments is the Arch of Septimus Severus. It was built in 203 AD to commemorate the emperor and his family and to mark his visit to his native city. One of the social hubs of the city were the Hadrianic Baths, which still give us a glimpse of the utmost luxury in which Romans lived at that time. Seventh Day We spend the whole day in Tripoli and start with a visit to the National Museum and explore the many different stories of the country with its mosques and churches, colonial buildings and palaces. The Souqs in the old town give us a fine example of every day life in the Orient: A glance over the shoulder of the coppersmith, the multicoloured materials and the ready information of the dealers to the tourists. Eight Day In the morning you’ll have the possibility to do some shopping or enjoy a visit to one of the hammams of the city. Tripolis is a safe city were you can move freely or take a taxi and ask for advice or information – Libyans have a warm heart and would not say no! hey dear... The Tuareg people are predominently nomadic people of the sahara desert, mostly in thenear Timbuktu and Kidal. The Tuareg are often referred to as "Blue Men of the desert " - because their robes are dyed indigo blue. They live in small tribes with between 30 and 100 family members and keep camels, goats, cattle and chicken which graze the land. The sword is a Tuareg's most valued possession. Many are passed from generation to generation and said to be protected by the victories of its past owners. Family roles: Women process milk, make butter, prepare animal skins, make clothes and bedding from skin, collect firewood and water. Men drive the animals take responsibility for selling. Men will take camels to towns to sell them, returning with millet which they use as flour for bread making. Other purchases will include sugar and tea. The mountainous region of Tadrart Acacus, located in the southwestern corner of Libya, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Scattered throughout the most of the area's valleys are spectacular painted and pecked cave art. Please note that there are no hotels in the area of the Acacus Mountains where the rock art is located. Camping is required to visit the area. Day 1: In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for the flight from Tripoli to the Touareg village of Ghat, located in the far south-western area of the country. Camp for the next five nights. (D). Day 2: Located on the border with Algeria deep in the Libya Sahara, Ghat was built as a protective outpost and trading center for caravans crossing the desert. Today the old town, dominated by a picturesque Italian fort and the imposing massif of Kaf el Djenun, is mainly deserted. There will be time to explore the village, including the Touareg Mosque before beginning our adventure by four-wheel drive vehicles. We will travel into the Akakus Mountains where we see the monolithic Touareg "thumb" at Adhad Akakus. As we continue deeper into the mountains, we will view many of the superb Neolithic cave painting and drawings that are plentiful in the area. If we are lucky, we may even meet up with some of Touareg who live there. (B/L/D). Days 3-5: The Idehan Murzuq is one of the world's greatest sand dune deserts covering an area almost the size of Switzerland. Here we visit the unique Wadi Methkandoush, a notable contrast to the barren stone desert surrounding it. Among the cliffs of sandstone are carvings of fine animals, including elephant, hippopotamus, crocodile, giraffe and ostrich, all suggesting a much more hospitable climate existed in the past, when water was abundant. (B/L/D). Day 6: Today we visit Germa to visit the royal cemetery of the great Garamantian Empire. This civilization held power in the Sahara for over 1000 years. In the afternoon, we continue to the lakes of Ramlat Dawada in the Ubari-Erg area. We will visit several of the beautiful palm-fringed lakes including Mavo, Gabaroun (where there is an opportunity for swimming) Oum al-maa, and Mandara. We take the evening flight from Sabha to Tripoli. Overnight in the al-Kenadi Hotel for two nights. (B/L/D). Day 7: Today is free to relax in Tripoli. Gather this evening for our final dinner party in an elegant local restaurant. (B/D). Day 8: Transfer to Airport. (B).
